Which client types can Invest in my model portfolios (retail vs. professional)?
Alliance Partners’ model portfolios can be distributed to professional as well as retail investors.
Can I promote my model portfolios publicly?
You can promote your model portfolios publicly within the European Union, though any marketing communications will have to be reviewed by our compliance team prior to publication.
Is there any limitation on which jurisdictions I can accept clients from?
Clients (natural or legal persons) can be from any jurisdiction except the United States (although we may be able to service US clients in the future).
Do you handle general client onboarding, AML and KYC?
Yes. The Alliance Partner directs the client to start an account opening process on the online platform or through the mobile apps. From there the entire process will be handled by us.
Will you handle practical matters in relation to clients’ investments and redemptions?
Yes. There is no need for you to be involved in this process. Once onboarded, clients can make new investments or redemptions via the online platform and mobile apps.
Will clients invest in a fund or through managed accounts?
Each client’s investments will be managed in their own account. There is no lock-up period or premium / discount to NAV when investing / redeeming.
Where are the custodian and broker based?
The custodian and broker are based in the UK, as we believe it to be one of the most reputable jurisdictions no matter the nationality of your clients.
Is there a limit on the number of model portfolios I can offer clients?
No; though there will be a small fee for each additional model portfolio due to increased admin costs.
Can clients be invested in several model portfolios?
Yes; there is no limitation on how many model portfolios clients can invest in.
Will you track the performance of each model portfolio?
Yes; performance track records will be available through the online platform and mobile apps.
What are the trading fees?
The trading fees are by any measure inexpensive. They are similar to those quoted to large active clients at discount brokerage houses no matter your client’s account size or underlying activity.
Will you handle technical support for my clients (getting new passwords, finding reports etc.)?
Which reports will clients be able to download?
Clients will be able to see their current allocation, historic performance, all historic trades made on their behalf as well as broker costs associated with these trades. Clients will also be able to download aggregated P&L reports and see P&L for each transaction.
Who can become an Alliance Partner?
Companies and natural persons can become Alliance Partners. Due to regulation, we must make sure that Alliance Partners are honest and competent. Professional experience, education and reputation are hence of paramount importance. This is not a social investing platform, but a platform for serious professionals to offer their investment solutions to clients.
If you have never worked as a portfolio manager, wealth manager etc. before, this does not necessarily disqualify you, so long as your professional or academic background is appropriate in relation to the model portfolios you intend to offer. Model portfolio strategies should be well reasoned and researched.
We are already a licensed Investment Manager / Wealth Manager; can we still become an Alliance Partner?
Yes; our license solution will not interfere with your existing license and chances are you will be able to downscale your own back office.
What does it cost to become an Alliance Partner?
We offer our white label services at highly disruptive prices, starting from an annual fee of just EUR 5.000. The specific fee will depend on a host of factors, such as number, complexity and turnover of model portfolios and is set on a case-by-case basis.
